  • I was aboard USNS Navasota T-AO 106 as an Engineering Officer both as a Third and a Second Assistant Engineer. I reported aboard her on 1/17/81 and spent 13 months aboard leaving her in Subic Bay as the Diesel Engineer running the three 2500 HP ALCO v16 cyl diesels that ran the generators for the cargo transfer pumps. She was one hell of a ship. I was on the USS Oriskany CV-34 and USS Ranger CV-61 and USS Proteus AS-19 during my Navy time from 72-80.
  • Glad to hear from a shipmate, do you remember BM1 Pedro and PN1 Anima?
I worked in the captains office and was also the legal clerk.
  • Hi, Tom.
I'm not sure if I am much better at wording, but I'll give it a go.
What is the name of the command? We have added several recently.
    Bill

  • Tommy,
Hope I'm doing this right. First shot at communicating with anyone at this site. Thanks for the welcome and the help this morning at the fire house. This was our best Christmas for kids ever thanks to the help of everyone who participated. Hope to see you at the next American Legion meeting in January

  • Robert. Thanks for the offer on the lighter I quit smoking about 30 years ago when my father died of lung cancer.Old zippo lighters are worth a lot. 4013 isn't the best place be it was more or less retraining so I could make out of boot camp;but I learned a lot if you seen them with watch cap on you knew who there were.A lot of them were kicked out so I made sure I wasn't one of them.I think of my time on the Midway there no jets for a short time the old man said don't take the AD's off. My youngest girl was Whidley Island loved going up their for a visit. I see your a bicker do you ride with ALR ?
