I was only on board a short time my first trip down the river the old man ran the ship into a pier . He said drop the anchor I did all most dopped it on the pier well after the investgation was over I came up on the short end of stick guess they had put the blame on someone did what I was told to do still got the shaft. Ken welcome I like your pic of the reminds me when just 18 I was on the USS Midway CVA 41 stopped in Hawaii before it was a state anyhow having few beers I climbed one in my whites they were green when I got down. I retired off the Manua Kea June of 77. BMC Tom Wallin USN Ret.
