HI John, Been a while since the Yokosuka Sailor days. Not much from here except growing older. After my last duty on the USS Doyle, DMS34, I Went back home to Alabama and was studying refrigeration on the GI Bill. I got a tip that led me to Montgomery, AL, where I went to work with the Associated Press. After about six years I got into the newspaper business, and bounced up and down the eastern states for a while, finally retiring in Harrisburg, PA. Since then I have lived beside the Susquehanna River and probably will be a:River Rat" for the rest of my days. Glad to hear that you are still involved in keeping the old and new Navy experience alive and kicking. R AR
Good to be back John, I miss the Westpac and good times had, went to a Grayback Reunion Last year in Vegas, Grayback was homeported in Subic, almost all the wives were from the PI, had a good time.
John - might have bumped into you at one time - I was on the Blue Ridge, Midway and Dubuque while they were home ported in Japan - very possible it was the Dubuque (I reported onboard Sep 90 - actually flew out ahead and met the ship in the gulf for Desert Storm/Shield and retired onboard in Jun of 93 I was the only Intel type (ISC) onboard. Blue Ridge was during 83-86 and Midway was 77-80 - Once I got to Japan I was basically there for my career (77-93) - had that end of fiscal year PRD. - Was definitely a Yokosuka Sailor - Westpac all the way. In between the ships I pulled shore duty at CNFJ N-2.
Reporting aboard .. let's see how long this site stays afloat.

John,
I was stationed at TI during ET 'A' school in 1972-1973. I wonder just what buildings are still standing. Is it now state property?
John you must have half of Navy Vets over here now.
Hi Mr. Andresen - saw your note re: access. We've seen some issues with some ISPs blocking the site but haven't been able to track it down. Can you provide any additional details? Thanks! Doug
