The American Legion in Olongapo today,one of the few places to get a "Cold One" cause there are more car washes on Magsaysay now than bars.

The new "Back Gate" at Subic now,you can see the old bridge on the left and the big building in the center is a new Hospital now that use to be PWC compound.

Made four Westpacs. Two aboard the USS Tripoli,LPH10 72-75 and two aboard the USS Ranger,CV61, 79-83. Enjoyed my many times in Japan and PI and all other ports of call.

I remember my time on the USS Anchorage LSD-36, we had been out to sea for about month and 1/2 and we were going to pull in to the Philippines two days later.They decided to have a steel Beach Party and I had my lawn chair and was in shorts, and laying in the sun and fell asleep for two hours....GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?
