Where were you or your family stationed?
Went active July 1980. Boot camp San Diego. Advanced avionics training NATTC Millington,TN, 1980-81. Reported to NAS Oceana, as AQ3, for A-6E DRS FLIR training, 1982. Served with VA-85, 1982-85. Deployed aboard USS Forrestal, USS John F. Kennedy, USS Saratoga, USS Eisenhower(separate mission away from sqdrn). When not deployed at sea, TAD to NAS Oceana AIMD, IM3 div., work center 64D (the FLIR shop). Reported to same as AQ2 when rotated from sea to shore duty, 1985-88.
