  • I want to give a shout out to an old shipmate who was in the squadron during the '76-'79 timeframe and recently joined NavyVets.  Many of you might remember him but didn't know him by his first name, "Harry".  He was better known as Danny B.
I had the privilege of knowing Danny during my time on the line & in the PP shop.

  • With sadness, I was recently informed of the passing of VA-85 veteran, friend and shipmate, Chris Zeitler.

Chris was a plane captain from '78 to '81.  He was a true friend to all who knew and worked with him. At Chris' request, there will be no funeral service.

For more information or to send condolences to Chris' family, contact Bert Gonzalez @ (954) 816-6714 after 4PM (EST)

    Rest In Peace

  • I hope to see everyone in Charleston.

  • I was in VA-85 1971 to 1975. AQ3-2 worked AIMD W/C 690 and W/C 650

  • I remember you James.

  • Hey Max it's great to have you onboard. You might remember me for falling off an airplane and breaking my arm. You're right ,being on the line crew was one of those great life experiences that you don't even realize at the time . We were young and invincible . Now we are older, wiser ,and aware of our mortality . I look forward to catching up with you .
  • I remember Frank. He was in va-85 when I got there in early 1969.
  • Permission to come aboard. I was in VA-85 from July 1976 to Feb 1978. I was an Aviation Electricians Mate but spent my entire time on the line. I was 2 years into my tour before I joined so command left me on the line instead of putting me in a shop. I loved it though. The Line Crew was awesome...dangerous and rowdy but really exceptional unique people. Al, I remember you. Thanks for starting the group.

  • Frank, I remember your name but can't put a face to it. I was in the 85th the same time you were. Contact me at:  rmoore0418@hotmail.com or call me at 806 787-1445. I live in Texas. I will update you on all of the reunion stuff. I hope you will call so we can talk.
