  • I made two Med Cruises on Ike in 1981/82 and 1983 with the VAQ-132 Scorpions. I had four months TAD to the ship's post office with a guy from one of the F-16  squadrons named Patrick Sheehy (sp). I can't find him anywhere. Any help?

  • Rode IKE for the "83 Med deployment and the "84-85 Med deployment as part of CVW-7, Attack Squadron 12 (VA-12). I still consider IKE my home away from home!

Cruise 88

Any of you on board when we returned from the Med in 88?  We had SECNAV Leman on board and the CO was Capt Beck.  As we began our turn to Hampton Bridge Tunnel we struck an anchored tanker and took out the antenna between El 1 & 2 as well as the deck in the CO's in port cabin.  We had picked up Tigers a day before.  Man what a day.
