  • Alan, check out the comment left by David Asche on my page. It gives a detailed history of the USS San Jacinto and provides great context to the maps and recon photos I posted.
  • I would like to join va-85 command what do I have to do IM not as computer savvy as you. I hope thay can save the fid I have a model of it and I looked for little a6es and a7s f4s f14s and sa3 vikeings to put on it planned on going to baltimore for its resting place If it makes it there. I remember the hurricane in the english channel I was sent on the flt deck with 3 others to check the tie down chains we had to craw on our hands and knees to get around tied together with ropes the ship would go into a swell and water would be 80 to 100 feet above us pitch black with white foam on top then we would pop back up we did not make it to far just held on to the plane could not move made it back duty officer let us go back down. later told to throw trash overboard did so held on to the bulkhead ladder back against the bulkhead and I saw what few people have ever seen from the fantail I gazed at at least 100 foot waves white foam against a pitch black sky. I also saw the top of mt etna volcano I was above the ciouds looking down on them it looked like 1 million bc I also went to the vatican in rome took train from naples to bob dillion eric clapton concert in germany used to run around with joe angle akan 75-79 I guess I got the salt in my blood live two hours from the ocean go when I can. claw out

  • Hiya Al! Thanks! You got some great pics yourself. I'm going to add some more today, soon as I get 'em scanned to my PC! Man, we sure look young in our pics, huh! We were all young, and experiencing a great adventure, yeah, there was work to do, and BS to put up with, etc., but I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Man, if I could just go back and do it all again...!
  • OH, Man...! what great pictures...I felt a chill going through my body. It's like if I went back in time. Thanks...!
