"Howdy everyone, been awhile since I have checked this page out and noticed I am getting behind on staying in touch. Has been a hectic year with the job. I am starting to see names again that I recognize from my time with the Falcons from 79-82.…"
"Al, would enjoy a reunion. My only problem is the summer time as with my job I can not get away anytime during the summer. Any other time would be great as long as I have enough notice. Also need the drive time as it takes me three days to get there…"
"Howdy my friend. Finally no snow, but they are talking about it again being possible. Right now we are scheduled for three days of rain which is good. Always use the moisture. Well take care my friend and God Bless."
"Why not? Make the camouflage blue with white wavy lines for the uniform so they look like the whitecaps of the ocean as you run around on the deck. Either that gray with black non skid patched on so you look like part of the deck. Sounds like…"
Doing good my friend especially after the shooting. My head is on straight and looking ahead. Hope you are doing well and enjoyed looking at the property and yes jealousy is there. Would love to have that land.
"Depends on how you classiffy "kids". I have two of my own, one boy and one girl, both grown and have kids of their own so yep now I'm a Grandpa. I also have six step children that refer to me as dad so I claim them also. So I guess you could say…"
"I didn't get to VA 85 until october of 79. Did my TAD duty in laundry and then went to the AME shop then to the line. But can always make new friends as well as reaquaint old ones."
"Howdy Kunkel didn't work in the PR shop but do remember you. Things are going good here. I now live back in South Dakota and work for the County Sheriff's Office. And you where you at and what are you doing?"
"Hello to all. I had the distiguished pleasure of being with VA85 "Buckeyes" from 1979-1983 before transferring to shore duty. Anxious to hear from fellow shipmates and restart old friendships."
Hello Pard,
yes, we have had some great weather here for the past couple days, but now we have "Severe Weather Alerts" over the net & radio. Expecting up to another foot of snow out of it! Good hearing from you again. Please be safe & stay sound in all you do my Amigo.
God Bless
OH Yea, He's a bute. SD grows some nice one's, my Nephew & Niece are stationed in Rapid City. They have been there for 2yrs now, she's still there, the AF has deployed him for his 3rd tour to Jalalabad, Afghanistan. He went to Turkey for Iraqi Freedom the 1st time, and Bagdad for the 2nd. We hope he be back in OCT. They went to SD from SC, and are getting a good dose of snow, she said it is beautiful there in SD, only in the summer. HA HA You have a good day sir, and the best to you and yours.
Ahh, You got there as I left. If you were in the AME shop, you probably knew Bill Harvey and Joe Whispell. I was good friends with both. Harv's pick is posted. He's standing in front of the LOX bottles. You may also recognize Vanatta (Hard-On), Miller (Mitch), Gibson (Gibby) and Sevitz. Then again, maybe not. Nevertheless, welcome back to VA-85 here at NavyVets.
Welcome to the VA-85 command here at NavyVets. Although we were in the squadron during the same time, I'm having trouble remembering you. I checked out of VA-85 in Sept '79 (took leave prior to separation). I was in the PowerPlants shop. Where did you work? Nevertheless, glad you're here. Feel free to tell us some sea stories or post some pics, so we can all briefly go back in time.
Well, Ah'll be dipped! It's my ol' "brother" and fellow sea dog, Cowboy! I was wonderin' when you'd mosey on over here, glad to hear from ya, bud! How's the folks, where ya at now, whatcha doin'? Man, it's been what, 4, 5 years, huh! Well, holler back when ya can. Later! "Maddog"

The following message is from Doug:
1. Great photo! Nice Mullie Buck!!!
2. Click the Commands tab and search for your commands so that you can join them and add them to your page! This is how other shipmates will find you.
3. Invite all your shipmates!
4. Don't hesitate to add an event or a reunion to the Events tab!
5. We've also started Commands for each State. Be sure to join or add your own state!
I give out gifts often for those folks who participate on Navy Vets! Be sure to start up a blog post or two and tell us all about your time in the Navy!
Thanks,
Doug
