  • Ahh, You got there as I left. If you were in the AME shop, you probably knew Bill Harvey and Joe Whispell. I was good friends with both. Harv's pick is posted. He's standing in front of the LOX bottles. You may also recognize Vanatta (Hard-On), Miller (Mitch), Gibson (Gibby) and Sevitz. Then again, maybe not. Nevertheless, welcome back to VA-85 here at NavyVets.
  • Welcome to the VA-85 command here at NavyVets. Although we were in the squadron during the same time, I'm having trouble remembering you. I checked out of VA-85 in Sept '79 (took leave prior to separation). I was in the PowerPlants shop. Where did you work? Nevertheless, glad you're here. Feel free to tell us some sea stories or post some pics, so we can all briefly go back in time.
  • Well, Ah'll be dipped! It's my ol' "brother" and fellow sea dog, Cowboy! I was wonderin' when you'd mosey on over here, glad to hear from ya, bud! How's the folks, where ya at now, whatcha doin'? Man, it's been what, 4, 5 years, huh! Well, holler back when ya can. Later! "Maddog"
  • Welcome Aboard, Frank!

I'm Bill Karr. My son Doug created this site and I help him out a bit. We hope that you enjoy it.

The following message is from Doug:
    1. Great photo! Nice Mullie Buck!!!
    2. Click the Commands tab and search for your commands so that you can join them and add them to your page! This is how other shipmates will find you.
    3. Invite all your shipmates!
    4. Don't hesitate to add an event or a reunion to the Events tab!
    5. We've also started Commands for each State. Be sure to join or add your own state!

I give out gifts often for those folks who participate on Navy Vets! Be sure to start up a blog post or two and tell us all about your time in the Navy!

    Thanks,
    Doug
