USS Coral Sea (CV/CVB/CVA-43), a Midway-class aircraft carrier, was the second ship of the United States Navy to be named for the Battle of the Coral Sea. She earned the affectionate nickname "Ageless Warrior" through her long career.

BOILER TECH

WAS A BOILER TECH ON THE WADDELL 1200LB SUPERHEATED SIDE 72-74 RIGHT OUT BOOT CAMP. WAS IN VIETNAM WATERS 54 DAYS ON THE GUN LINE OPS END SWEEP CROSS THE EQAUTOR BECAME A SHELL BACK MANY OF SIGHTS AND SOUNDS. ALSO 74-75 WAS ON 600LB BOILER ON THE CORAL SEA WE WERE IN THE EVAC OF SAIGON AND RESCUE OF THE MAYAQUEZ. ONE OF THE HIGH LITES IF YOU WERE A NEW BOOT IN THE BOLIER ROOM YOU GREASED HEAD TO TOE.  ENJOYED ALL WHO SAILED HERE MISS THE OL SALTS.

Operation End Sweep

On 27 January 1973, American and North Vietnamese officials signed a protocol to the Paris agreement that called for the United States to neutralize the mines that the Navy had dropped in North Vietnam's coastal and inland waterways.
