  • Thank you very much. I found this website because I was looking for information about a crash of a Grummin S2 tracker that crashed 2 miles short of the runway behind Rockland Place, Rockland, Ma. It was the station aircraft for N.A.S. South Weymouth. Ma. I am looking for the exact date of the crash. It happened during spring/Summer 1978,79,80,8 1 or 82. Please let me know if you have any information on this.

  • Thanks, Hope I find some old friends here.  Would like to put together a reunion (for those who are still alive).  I hope this is the place!

  • Hi Chief, thanks for the nod. Did you ever know any HMs that served on the Hector AR7 around 1972-74? We had a great med and dental staff.

  • Hi Chief. Great to be onbroad. I do hope that we all stay in touch. I really
Enjoyed my time in the Navy. I miss it I
wanted to make it a career. I made so-
me choices which lead me on a very
different path. Thank you for your long
    Service. Thank you. Bo'sun

  • Thanks Lindsey.

I served aboard USS WITEK EDD-848 (home port, Sub Base, NLon) from July 1952 - June 1953. Officers Sub School, July - Dec 1953. USS HALFBEAK SS-352 (State Pier, NLon) Dec 1953 - July 1956. Staff, COMSUBRON 8, Sub Base, NLon, July 1956 - Sept 1957.

  • I got my Honorable Discharge in 1979 six weeks after giving birth to my youngest daughter.  My ex and I divorced while stationed in Groton.  Three years later I met and married a man from Danbury CT who is an Army Vietnam Vet.  He was stationed on the DMZ line in South Korea, the same time my brother Dean was there.  Earl and I have been married almost 31 years; Josh is our son and Earl has 3 other children from a previous marriage.  They don't communicate with us.  I love being a mom,  I just turned 60 last month and am having the best time of my life even with circumstances around me!  Josh and Mary live with us and will continue to after they get married and Earl leaves. So much on my plate which keeps me busy and out of trouble-ok, in trouble.

  • Dear Lindsey,

Thank you so much for the welcome!  I don't get too much of a chance to communicate with other sailors.  I have so much going on right now with placing my husband in a long-term care facility, marrying off my son, getting ready for total knee replacement surgery, volunteering at our hospital and going to school on line.  It's so good to have a friend and fellow sailor to write to!  Please write more often!  -Jpy_
