  • Kelly, Just  found your web site, was on 1619 January 1968 thru December 1968. Asst craftmaster and Quartermaster/signalman.  I designed and had the flying bridge put on in March because I got tired of being wet and cold and the added steel for protetion, looks like it stayed on after I left along with the twin 50's. it was a great boat and crew during Tet, worked hard, played hard, Hauled a lot of tonage. 155mm & 8" to go

  • hi kelley i too was station at  da nang in 67 i was aboard the apl 30 i was on call 24 hours a day to issue food fo the landing craft if you came to the apl30 for food we might of met

  • Kelley thank you for your welcome to landing craft veterans command. I didn't arrive in country until december of 1968. served on the1619 until she went to subic for overhaul in sept. then went to 1617 til my tour was over. enjoyed your photos notice there was one of the 1617.

  • Kelly,Thank for the return my unit lived on APL once month we could go to Camp Tien Sha to play the slots or what ever.In 65 we had liberty onver in town,but that didn't last long.I'am you miss them old c-rats (yak) 67 I left Camron for the states,My HQ was NAS Subic.Before I went to Vietam I was living Twin Fall Idaho that close to being an Idaho Vet .   • Kelly I like your patch "NAS DA Nang" My unit was TAD to NAS 65-66 I looked for our patch,but been so long ago .I lost some of my papers back 1980 it my have been with them. I was with Cargo Battilon Two before we went south Camron.I may have put a load or on your LCU ? Well take care, BMC Tom Wallin USN Ret.
