It was great hearing from you. I retired from the Navy in 1977 and went back to my hometown of Red Wing, MN with Bobbie and 3 sons and spent another career with the public schools running boilers and maintenance for the district. I am fully retired now and am still in Red Wing were I hunt, fish, play golf, go to Viking games, ride bike, camp and entertain grand kids and travel.. All 3 sons went Navy, 1 retired in Jun from active duty, 1 is still in the reserves and going to retire soon, and the other one did 5 yrs active. We have had 4 sons, our 1st son died from a brain tumor while the Vulcan was in Peurto Rico in 1964, he would have been the one Bobbie was pregnant with at the Pinnocle games. at your house. Our 50th wedding anniversary is coming up in 2012. My email is

Hi John I was stationed with you awhile in the Boat Shop on Vulcan then they transferred me to A gang. We used to play pinnocle at your house at Navy housing. I was an EN2. My wife's name was Bobbie and if I recall your wife's name was Kitty. Your dog always sat at my wife's feet when she was pregnant with our first son. Hope this jogged your memory.

Hi John,when you think of Navy thirteen buttons wont go away. 57 in boot camp I got the blues that buttoned up the fly. The first thing I did was buy thirteen buttons . First time I saw the new uniform I thought the were sea scouts at the base.

hi doug,you have agreat set up hear,keep up the good work.there is another set up you may or not know about,it is vetsrollcall.org.for a navy man they have everyship that ever went to sea. they even the muster sheet for most ships.
