  • Bob Applegate, How have you been? I hear you stayed in and retired. I hope this recession is treating you better than a lot of us.
  • Hey Roland ask your old shipmate Jim Culver if John Dillon ML2 , Rudy ML3 and the R-2 Div. officer LDO Ronald L. Parker were still on the Bryce Canyon when he went onboard . the only thing these guys cared about was liberty and their part time jobs on the beach
  • I remember Paul, too. He was a great guy. I don't know where he went after I got out of A school.
  • Hello Dan, I knew Paul Little but have no idea where he may be. He was in DATC at the same time I was at the school, around 70-71. When you see Joe Wirth tell he hey. I was that skinny molder that made E-7 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We used to set under the shade trees at the head of the pier and have a few cool ones now and again along with Jack Callaghan who was also an ML-1 at the time. Jack and I were on the Cascade out of New Port RI.
  • I am looking for a molder by the name of PAUL LITTLE. If anyone has any information on Paul, please contact me at molderbrown@google.com
  • With the help of a couple of Molders on this site, I have suceeded in finding one of the guys that I have been looking for for about 50 years, Joe Wirth, MLCS.Joe and I worked together on the HOLLAND, and I wasn't sure if he had stayed in or not. I am now in touch with him every now and then, and I will be driving down to St. Marys Georgia to spend a few days with him in the spring. I can't remember who "found" him for me, but you know who you are. THANKS.
  • I just reconnected with a molder from 1967-1969. I recently found ML2 Jim Culver. He was on the USS Frontier with me and then went to the USS Bryce Canyon. I tried to get him to join the group. Anyone else who knew him, I will pass along the messages the maybe he will join.
  • Is he (MLC Audette) still drinking diet coke? There was never a time i remembered where he didn't have a diet coke in his hands. It's good to hear those were only rumors, i think i heard it from Wuerederman and if you know him, it makes sense. Tell Frank i say hello.
  • Hope your new year has had a good start. A week ago Frank Audette called, and you thought mental telephethy was a bunch of nonsense. I have been thinking about him since I read that he might have had heart problems and no one had heard from him. Frank had prostate cancer about 6 years ago. Radiation treatments have beaten the beast. He is a warehouse manager for Overhead Door Company. His latest project is a purple 1923 bucket T that took 3 years to complete.
The good comments I read about MLC Audette on this web site don’t surprise me one little bit. Frank and I met at molder A school in 1968. He bought a Honda 350 and we spent every off hour riding all over Southern California. We would leave 32nd Street barracks at sun rise on Saturday mornings and not return until late night. We were both sent to the USS Nereus. We made 2nd class in less than two years by memorizing the ML 3 & 2. When working on the ram up bench we quizzed each other. Good old days as they say.

Posablly seeing about starting up a navy molders museum?

I know they dismissed our rate back in 1997. I would hope there are enough of us left to possably  get together and see about creating a museum somewhere  here in the states to preserve our long history and heritage that we all have shared as Molders. Any of you out there please give me a response if you read this Discussion.                                      Thanks.
