First time I was in Subic Bay was 1958,we used Scrip for money on the base.All the 7th fleet carriers tied up there."PO" city was in an APOCALYPTIC condition,the place was the Wild West.12 pesos to the US Dollar back then.And when we anchored off Manila,liberty was only granted to sailors in groups of 3.Crime was rampant.Well we all know what happened to "Olongapoo".
