  • Thank you, Chief! It's good to be a part of the organization!

I joined the Navy back in 1974. Boot camp was at Orlando, FL. I was in Co 1101 and Petty Officer Lopez was our RCC. My only tour was on Guam - at the NAVCAMSWESTPAC naval station. Married a Navy man and have been to many places since then. Only made it to Petty Officer Third Class [with a Postal Clerk designation] but hey, it was fun while it lasted!

  • Thanx DOC, glad to be here.

  • Thanks Chief! I graduated HCS at Balboa Naval Hospital in February 1964. Spent a year or so on the SOQ ward (26-6B) in the Grey Ghost and 6 mos. Emergency/Receiving,  then Camp Pendleton for FMSC. Did about 6 mos. in country with the 1st MAW, MAG-12 when they 'accidently' discovered I was still a Canadian! I was sent to Hawaii to be naturalized ASAP. Was sent back for what amounted to a second tour! Long Beach after that for seperation! FYI - was just in Jean a few weeks back enroute LV. Interesting place to live!

  • Thanks much, Chief!  I grew up in CT, leaving Corps school they thought they were doing me a favor giving me orders there. I wanted San Diego, oh well.
