"How can I find out my Company number from boot camp? I was at RTC San Diego during June and July of 1981. My Company Commander was Senior Chief BM Bates. Cowles, David L. My DD-214 doesn't show it and I can't remember to save my life."
"I made two Med Cruises on Ike in 1981/82 and 1983 with the VAQ-132 Scorpions. I had four months TAD to the ship's post office with a guy from one of the F-16 squadrons named Patrick Sheehy (sp). I can't find him anywhere. Any help?"

Where were you or your family stationed?
RTC/NTC San Diego, NATTC Memphis, VAQ-132 deployed on CVN-69 out of NAS Whidbey Island. June 1, 1982, I started Navy Boot Camp at RTC NTC San Diego. Push ups, ten mile Fat Squad runs, four Marching Parties, two Short Tours, a Set Back, a Division Mast, and a Captain's Mast! My first company commander was a Filipino named Chief Abarantos. Then I was set back and had a Senior Chief Bates. My Company number is lost in time. Anyone know it?

Dave, I don't know how you forgot your company number. Do you still have your Boot camp annual? it's like a high school yearbook for recruits. it's called the "Anchor" If you do you can find it in there. Otherwise there's always internet search using the time frame.
