the mighty Mazy was destined to be a banana boat when funds ran out and the Navy took over and finished building her as an Ammunition Ship

I served on the USS Mazama from the commisioning in 1962 through January of 1965 when I was dischared. Had the pleasure of having pUL a our BM3 in division 2. I will never forget all the shipmates we had and all of the ports and fun we had. Thank you

I went aboard the Mazama in Mare Island, CA August 1944 and assigned to the First Division. We served in the South Pacific as part of the 7th. Fleet under Admiral Bill Halsey. We took part in the Battle of Leyt
