  • Hi everyone: I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
  • I hope you all had a very good Christmas, yesterday.  Mine was good.  I'm looking forward to a very Happy New Year and wish the same for all of you.
  • Merry Christmas everybody. My wife got me a book, " San Diego's Naval Training Center " part of Images of America series for Christmas and in it are several photos of Molder and Patternmaker A and B school classes.  Out of all the rates the author could have chosen photos of, I thought it was very strange that ML and PM schools were selected. It shows 1957 and 1958 ML B school classes and 1972, 1979, 1980 , 1982, 1986, 1990, 1991 and 1992 PM A school classes.  Some of you guys might be in the photos.  Bruce Kile
  • Wow, couple of old drivers, I have 40 yrs behind the wheel, but it was in local freeway traffic in L A, set of bottom dumps all day long, stay safe out there

  • Aldo: Thanks for the encouraging words, I stay out for 30 to 40 days myself. I am just trying to top off our "nest egg" so we will have no worries when I finally quit for good. My Health is perfect and I am enjoying seeing the U.S. via Roehl. I have thought about becoming a trainer, but did not know if that would eat away at my miles. I like getting 2600 to 2900 miles per week. I may look into it. Thanks again Aldo. Enjoy sunny Florida.
  • John: I was in it for the money although I did like the  training aspect of it. I found that I could do a lot more drop and hook loads with a trailer and I got paid for all the miles with a student. When others were waiting to unload on Monday morning I was running trailers from yard to yard over the weekend or running to the west coast with a student. Once again, a great job and good people to work for. I would stay out four to six weeks and than get a load to Fl. for my home time than back out again. loved it. Good Luck. Al.

  • Aldo, I started with Roehl in October. I love the company and I have a great dispatcher. I am looking to drive for several more years then call it quits. I have driven trucks for about 5 years but so far Roehl is by the far the best. I am doing the flatbeds still as I love the exercise. Thanks for the reply and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  • Hi John: I was a trainer with them for many years. It was a great company and they always treated me good. I retired for good in 2004 when I had my first heart attack and have been living in Fl. ever sence. Take care and have a Great Chrestmas. Al Crose.

  • I want to wish al my fellow sand rats a merry Christmas and a happy new year.  If your religeon doesn't celebrate Christmas, have a good time anyway.  What's it going to hurt?

Posablly seeing about starting up a navy molders museum?

I know they dismissed our rate back in 1997. I would hope there are enough of us left to possably  get together and see about creating a museum somewhere  here in the states to preserve our long history and heritage that we all have shared as Molders. Any of you out there please give me a response if you read this Discussion.                                      Thanks.
