  • Hello to all. I had the distiguished pleasure of being with VA85 "Buckeyes" from 1979-1983 before transferring to shore duty. Anxious to hear from fellow shipmates and restart old friendships.
  • Ken, I was on the LINE for a while and then went over to AO. Another great site is Military.com There are a TON on guys there from 85. It's pretty straight forward. I'm in Cincinnati, been here about 5 years now, married with 16 and 14 year olds. Take care, bob
  • Hiya, Bob. Yeah, I guess I would look familiar, what with the "air brakes" sticking out the sides of my head! Anyway, I was always TAD to the AIMD FLIR shop, where'd you work? And, sadly, no, I haven't heard from alot a the guys I knew, but I'm hoping to on here someday!
  • I'll just put this out there...I'm trying to get in contact with Charlie Cacioppo. Anyone know him or how to reach him? Thanks.
  • Ken, I was in VA-85 from 83-87. I too was on Kennedy and Sara. I kept a smaller circle of friends so I dont remember a lot of people. You seem sorta familiar though. You keep in touch with anybody else? Let me know how your doing, Bob
  • I joined the Black Falcons mid 1982, after completing the A6-E FLIR systems school. The squadron was out on work-ups on the FID at the time. I made the '82 cruise on FID, and pre-deployment and cruise on JFK in '83-84. Made the work-ups on the Sara in '85, then rotated to shore duty, NAS Oceana, AIMD. BUCKEYES RULE!!
  • i knew miro, not well but as a power plant mechanic. sorry to hear this, lets all join in an offer his welfare into the immaculate heart of mary and say a hail mary for him. rest in peace miro.
  • I want to pass along some news that I learned of not long ago. I was informed of the death of Lou Miro. Lou served in VA-85 during the period from '78 to '80. Lou was a plane captain and power plant mechanic. Further efforts to get more information about Lou have been unsuccessful.
  • Heres my nasty photo folks, i forgot to shine it this morning, hehehe. anyway i got 3 of my 4 kids on here louis kayla heath...my son jason was the 2nd oldest he was 19, died oct 19th 05, due to suicide, i found him, but im ok folks to get thru something like that one MUST pray all 20 decades of the rosary and go to church daily for 3 months. believe me their is POWER in the rosary, which this country needs very badly.
