  • Roxanne. this is mlc perkins. I relieved al crose on the sound. Lynda worked for me later when we were putting the foundry together at sima, norva. just talked to all today. we live close by one another

  • Hey Roxanne, you probably don't remember me, I was stationed on the Puget Sound I guess in '81, you and Lynda were the first female Molders aboard, I heard about poor Lynda. Was it a suicide or something like that? I don't remember what you looked like, but I do remember one of you had red hair. I'm going to try to upload a recent pic of myself, have a great day, hope to hear from you soon.

  • i never heard noises either, i think he tried to spook me cause he wouldn't go inside the foundry untill someone showed up to go with him and i would.
  • I was stationed at groton. I didnt think it was haunted. I used to sleep there when we had duty. I never heard any noises. I would love to find out more about the history of that place
  • chief mccall tried to scare me about the foundry being haunted, especially on my duty nites. now i remeber his first name was david. i got the impression he hadn't had women work for him before me. he'd pay one of us to drive him to the chiefs mess for bingo and we played spades at lunch. (for fun of course)
  • Hello Roxanne, There were two MLC McCalla's. The one that was stationed in Groton was David W. McCalla. The scars on his neck came from opening the lid on a propane tank and lit a match to see if there was and propane left in the tank. He was in the hospital for a few days after that. Did he learn anything from this? Probably not.
  • Hi Roxanne to answer your question about the base foundry being haunted , I did have something that would happen to me as I left the apartment house where I lived on 198 Thames St. down the street from the Electric Boat Div. the stair case that I would use when I left for the base ( this would only happen when I used this front stair case )
As I would be driving to the base on the road that runs by the river I started feeling something evil staring at me this was happening all the way even to inside the foundry this thing gave me the chills , it would not last all day ,this went on everyday for about 2 weeks ,then I found out how to make it leave me alone, I rebuked it in the name of Christ I guess the stair case that I used to get to the street must have been haunted .
Was the foundry haunted ? , there was something creepy about that place , there seemed to be some kind of pesence in the furnace generator room ,and sleeping in the foundry at night was no picnic remember that place is about 100 years old and the things that has happened there could fill a few books .

  • Hi Rocky: Have not heard from you lately. Just wanted to let you know that my middle son Tim is getting married this Sunday. Wanetta and I are both very pleased with his choice. Her name is Tami and she is a real sweet girl. Tim will be deploying overseas at the end of the month so they moved up the wedding. Take Care and I hope everything is going well with your family. Wanetta says Hi.. By for now. Big Al.
  • I think Todd was one of the last ones to make MLC. My last command was at NETPMSA in Pensacola, FL where I wrote the last ML exam. I took the early retirement at 17 years. It was a good time because my oldest daughter was ready to start high school. Know I'm a corrections officer in a PA state prison.
  • Yea I heard about Lynda and it really suprised me. When I last knew she was still on the wagon. Haven't seen or heard from Steve since I left the Yellowstone. HIs he still in California? Last time I talked to Todd I was stationed in Pensacola and he had just made chief.
