  • Hello Mr. Olsson, my name is Wade LeBlanc, E-5,  and I was under your command in the SUBROC program in 79 thru the decomission. I am trying to aquire information of the Xo Commanding Officer that was killed when we were getting underway to Naples, at the end of 79 or the begining of 80. I am also looking for names of the crew durning this time. There was also a CWO that was African American.

  • Yeh! Just got in the pic. I ahve it home now doing some major refurbishments. It's a 78 Bucanneer 270. Just finishing sanding the bottom and putting a new coat of anti-foul on.
  • Yes, looked through TB's web site/blog photos, etc. yesterday. I've got to spend more time with the site and add some photos. Most of my good stuff pre-dates digital photography...got to play around with conversion a bit...not sure if my scanner supports acceptable resolution.
  • Hi. John
No, we have never been to the Keys. With Carol working full time and me busy with my "Bill-Can-Do,LLC" business, we never seem to have time for anything else.
Some day, if we ever get both of us with the same free time, we'd like to get together for a lunch or diner....Some day.
  • Thanks for the kind words, John. I'm a lot better looking than my Dad, though (but I'm about 100lbs heavier, too!)

We'll keep plugging away at the site. We hope to get a calendar released soon so we can support reunion dates, etc.
  • Welcome aboard, John

  • Thanks, Douglas. Looking at your pic and pics that I have of your dad back in '61 - '62, it is apparent that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
  • Welcome Aboard, Mr. Olssen! Glad to see another Halibut sailor on board. I'll work on getting your commands in tonight!
