USS Lamar (PCE-899)/USCGC Lamar was an PCE-842-class patrol craft acquired by the U.S. Navy during World War II for the task of patrolling assigned ocean areas or protecting larger ships in convoy.

    Do I remember that ballgame, sure do. I do have a big scar to remember it by.
  • Oly: do you remember our softball game where your arm would not return to it's normal position? You probably still have the scar as a reminder, huh?
  • I served on the Lamar from Oct. 57 until Jan. 1961.We (the LAMAR) was the first Naval ship to transit the Isonhower Locks during our St Lawrence Seaway cruise 17 Aug. 1959 thru 17 Oct. 1959. I think we hit every city on the 5 Glakes for Liberty iduring my time on the LAMAR!
