Hi James,
When I first started NavyVets.com I had to make all the commands myself - so they are on my profile even though I didn't serve there. It's a shortcoming of the platform we're using! I never served on the Yancey - my time was on the USS Coontz and USS Spartanburg County.

Who are Wayne Roberts and Chief Gultch? That was 50 years ago, and I've apparently forgotten some details.
Are you still in touch with Larry Bogue?
I am now a retired I.T. living in Salem, Oregon..
You know, don't you, that the USS Yancey is now under 300 feet of water off North Carolina to become a reef? I'm glad she wasn't scrapped. That's just the end I would have wished for her.
