  Hey Doug, my father in law was on the original USS Essex CV9. He is deceased, but I wanted to try to find out if anyone on Navyvets was also on that ship. Do you know if any are on this site? Thanks.

  Thanks for the welcome message. I stumbled across this site more by accident than intent. So far I think it's A-OK. I still need to meander about and will eventually upload a recent picture (scary) and notify former friends and acquaintances. I was an airdale so if there isn't already a command for Attack Squadron 85 (VA-85), then make way!
