  • Glad to see the double keys. I was a storekeeper E-5 made my rounds at Navy bases and was assigned to the 1st Marines in Da Nang as part of the 7th Marines doing the mapping of the territory. Whole lot of fun for a guy who thought he was a temporary Quartermaster. Done a gig in Sangley Po

  • I did not get to go to Storekeeper A School but I earned my E5 crow in 1968 while at Commander Service Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Headquarters, Flag Allowance, Division 40.

  • I arrived NTTC Meridian MS Jan 1987 from RTC Orlando to attend Storekeeper "A" left April 1987 for Naval Station Guam May 1987-May 1989 left as a SK3.   Reported to NMCB 40 Jun 1989-Jul 1991 made SK2 1990

  • I went to Storekeeper "A" School in Meridan, Mississippi. NAS Meridan. I had a great time at A School. I ended up on the USS Vreeland FF-1068 out of Mayport, Florida and was there for 4 years as an SK3.  I then left the Vreeland to go to the Naval Reserve Center at the Rock Island Arsenal. I spent 8 years in the Reserves with my last command Sima San Diego as the unit storekeeper as SK2.

Where are the manifests?

I'm a Vietnam War Veteran and would like to know what happened to all the ships manifests during that time? These documents could be invaluable in helping our Blue Water Navy Veterans suffering from the effects of Agent Orange that may have been transferred from shore to ship. Also chemicals like PCE, TCE and benzene. Would like your help. Thanks.

Aviation Storekeeper

I noticed when I signed up that there is no Aviation Storekeeper.  While we did normal storekeeping, we also dealt with SMIC's for weapon systems and platforms.  Also, the rest of the storekeeping business was pretty normal.  Long live the DD1348 (6pt).  LOL  Would like to see other AKs here.  We were with tailhook squadrons.  I know it was consolidated some time back with SK.  Can that be changed?
