STACK CLEANING AND LAGGING REPAIR
Who remebers cleaning the stacks and the soot in the stacks turned into an acid that burned the piss out of your eye's and any cuts you had and the lagging that was full of asbestos. The Chicago was a great ship to be on.

Chief Water Tender Tomich USS Uath 7 December 1941.
There was a Chief Water Tender back in those days that got the Medal of Honor during the attack on Peal Harbor,he keeped the Boiler on line.
Rusty remember the words on 1B's steam drum that Goodrich painted,I can't remember the words.
