  • I agree with you Robert

  • Nicely said Robert. I totally agree!
  • Yeah I agree that five years is a long time. I think the reason may be the Vets coming back home from the war. I went through physicherapy at Balboa a couple years back after a motorcycle crash. They treated me outstanding. I live here in San Diego. But I am sure all of the records end up in the same place. I'm not trying to cut you guys short of anything I just think that being rude to people on here is unnecessary. We all served no matter what rank we were/are. I think everyone deserves the same respect. Thank you all for serving.

  • u tell him jerry

  • ************* Lt  Rolando ***************

When I was on the USS Anchorage on WestPac in 96 I fell 15 feet from the Signal Bridge to the bridge, Fell flat on mt face and bounced over onto my back

Cracked three ribs,  had reconstruction on my nose, ended up with Carpo Tunnel, Messed up my back.

When the corpsmen came to the bridge, I was out cols and they thought I was dead. I spent 7 weeks in sickbay and twice in Physical Therapy when i got back from WestPac.

Already had hearing loss from the Constellation but I have been back and forth on physical Therapy and my Back problems is not because of age.

No longer working and my VA Medical records on the scales weigh 45 pounds.

Anyway VA in Oakland is really bad and I have been waiting on an appeal now for five years.

I know I'm not the only one fighting for my disability. I just feel Five years is way too long.

  • i was 42 when i ret still fighting for what i was fighting for then ive had back problem's ever since i got hit in the back with a block and tackel during an un rep. was not bad enough for med discharge if i was a candy a-- i could of got one, up in age yes but pain still the same.

  • Really Mike Carlson? That's kind of rude of you. LT Ayala has a point. And is absolutely correct. I don't know how old you are but I bet as you get older you will notice that you r body is going to have more aches and pains. I know mine does. I see all these Vets coming back from the war with real injuries and know that mine are pretty petty compaired to theirs.

  • well pall if your not a mustang or never been in war us here are war vet's were going for what we earned, stay in the wardroom your like all the other zero's your just upset u never got from behind a desk suck's to be u.

  • The VA is not a trust fund or retirement plan. The current backlog is created by the enormous amount of appeals. Many feel as if its a free for all and everyone wants a piece. The main focus are those who have been injured while active or in the line of duty. A degenerative condition is simply a sign of age.
  • jerry, iam in charleston s.c. v.a. here is real slow the v.a. hosp here is thumb's up, ive seen bender and bender on t.v. here but went with this lawyer out of n.c. iam just tired of fighting them on my own v.f.w. and american legion are good 2 even the d.a.v., hope all work's out for u gl, let me know how u make out.

One Huge Event

Greetings fellow Navy retirees! I served for twenty five years, and have told many sea stories. I like to categorize them just a little by putting them into Liberty wild tale type things, and Operations this is what happened on an exercise or evolution type thing. Do you have a really BIG EVENT that was very cool or maybe not so cool that you would like to tell the rest of us old salts?
