  • Knudsen came to VP-44 when I was in the sqiadron. He was in my duty section.Being flight crew, i didn't see much of him and don't know where he went after I transferred
  • Gentlemen and I use that term lightly I want to wish everyone a safe and Happy Memorial day and please do remember the servicemen and woman who paved the way for our freedom to do what we did in our past, present and hopefully the future..these are the days when the memories start popping up and you say WOW how did we make it this far but we did...I just heard from JJ Nemeth on the military web so I told him to join this one and read the tales and join in on passing a few of his along too...
  • Does anybody know what happened to joe angle an ak
  • yeah and you guys thought I was in jail...here's my guess...I don't even remember but for some reason I thought Jersey...maybe because of how he was....he was a tough sob and pretty funny
  • Hey,anyone remember eddie knudsen's hometown? I'd like to try and track him down. I thought it was either in Maryland or Chicago
  • Mr Claw how are you.. your in one of Al's pictures on his album. Randy I do think it was Knudson he was the all time boxer just ask him he'd tell you and he did seem to be invovled in most of the skirmishes..Didn't we have the toga party after going to see the movie "Animal House"...that was just another wild night...they did have movie nights on the Roads since there wasn't much else to do...I was on night watch and AO2 Nicholas,I think that was his name..big lazy black guy..anyway he'd like to sleep and using his rank made me go walking around..so I found a piece of black hose and hung it down just inches away from his face and being sound asleep I screamed "officer on deck" he woke up and then thinking it was a snake jumped so high and took off like a bat out of hell...never seen anyone so scared in my life..
  • HI this is claw I remember the toga party at the barricks in rosevelt roads The rainbows in the morning on the way to work Who was it that stoled my boot on the bus I got stopped by xo for only one boot on walking in to the hanger.I remember the night I saved 80 drunken sailors in the bay of napals italy the motor quit on the launch and we were floating out to sea could not see your hand in front of you .The very loud hiccups I had from russian rum poured over a bananasplit enabled the searchlaunch to find us.true story .Also one night i was on shore patrol in napales italy I was on a bus driving around at 3am in the morning, suddenly the bus was hijacked by about 40 ladies of the night thay stormed on the bus the driver had no problem with it and I was forced to ride around with them I could only reconize them with their tops off thay dropped me off at the launch area to the wonderment and awe of the chiefs standing there. Things happen
  • Randy if I'm not mistaken the fight started because of this gorgeous(not sure if she really was that gorgeous but alot rum was a flowing) little Puerto Rican and Knudson bet I wouldn't go down on her right there at the table of course I couldn't let him down so I grabbed her and threw her down on the table and went to town and some of the locals tried to break it up and Knudson did his best to let the show go on...I know we wern't welcomed back the poor losers.....
  • this is something I found in Davey Jones's locker... this was written by Randy Gero AO3-Daddy Dunn's Diary/ I've got 22 men in my Ordnance shop, some guys in it even call me Pop/We have this Puerto Rican who loses his tools and Armstrong and Holt who are just plain fools/There's Watson and Harrison who get into soul. While Bryan and Parks are jamming rock n' roll/Vaccaro is in the hospital nursing his knee and we get all our food from Falmo and Tyree/ I can't get Gero or Rittenhouse to shave and I gave up trying to get Paisan to behave/ I come back from chow after eating steak and gravy and everyone tells me how much they hate the Navy/ I look around the shop and it looks like a mess/ there's three guys asleep and two playing chess/ with Willy running nights it goes pretty well, but Holt running days it goes like Hell/ it's rough being Chief of this crew and if I asked for volunteers they'd find few/but of all the shops to choose from on this boat. This god damn Ordnance shop would get my vote/when there's work to do they do it well and seeing all their accomplishments its worth the Hell/I'll stand by my men and I'll back them to the end/because this Ordnance shop is a Brotherhood which no one can bend.....when I read this with all the names it brought back alot of memories
  • Yeah, come to think of it, it was at Rosie Roads where I first met Don Q. One of my pics shows us all in bundy; Randy, Atwell, Tuna Joe and Bucky. Too bad Buckstone isn't around anymore.

Does anyone recall a tall AT in the early 80's? His name was Steve, but I can't recall his last name. Also, I'm trying to locate an AE, Joey Martinez, if anyone knows how to contact him. He was in VA85 in the late 70's- early 80's.Any help would be much appreciated.
