  • I served aboard Midway 82 to 85 im4 division

  • I served aboard Midway for two years, from January 81 through Dec 82.  I was honored to work with Chuck Webb, David Muster, and many others I'll never forget in OZ Div.  From Gonzo Station in the IO, to picking up refugees in the South China Sea, to ops in the North Pacific and in the East Sea (or Sea of Japan), there were days we will never forget.  Press on, Gents!

  • Privileged to serve aboard Midway from November 1981 to January 1984, worked in OZ division as an IS. ISCS Hubbard was leading enlisted in the division. Great memories, hit all the great ports- Sasebo, Hong Kong (loved the Tai Pak floating resturant), Singapore, Phattaya Beach Thailand, Subic Bay and Sasebo. Monster waves in the SOJ and North Pacific (!) Wog Day between Borneo and Sumatra, and HOT! Smelled like rotten garbage for many days afterward. God 's blessings to all of you who had the privilege and honor of serving aboard CV-41 !
  •      I served on the Midway from March 1963 to October 1964 in the V-3 division.

I was the starboard aircraft elevator operator when we lost the elevator during a at sea replenishment operation. Very exciting !!

I really enjoyed my time aboard this great ship. Have been to San Diego a couple of times and toured the museum that now is the Midway's duty.

  •  I served on board CVA-41 from Apr. 1965 to March 1966 as an AT-2 in the GM Division. My job was to Calibrate and repair the 2 test stands for the Guidance and control sections of the Sparrow III. Soon, my job came be testing the G&C sections. In June we painted two MIG-17s on the side of test stand 1 to represent the first North Vietnamese MIGs Shot down in the war by CO and XO of VF-21.

  • Reported aboard the Midway in Sasebo, Japan in February 1960. I worked in the V-6 Div. I remained on the Midway until my enlistment was up....October 1963. I have many fond memories of my time aboard this ship and the experiences I had during that time were priceless. I am very proud to have been part of this magnificent ship.

  • Reported onboard the Midway (OZ Division) in April 77 as an IS1. Transferred March 80 to CNFJ.

  • Served on USS Midway as an E-4 Radioman from  1962 to 1963...while she was in shipyard and Alameda.

  • Was on the Midway 1985 to late 88.

  • I served with VF-151 abaord the USS Midway from 1974 to 1977. That was one steaming ship that for sure. Seems like we were always at sea or in Subic Bay, P.I. The Japanese and Filipino yardworkers kept that ship in great shape. Too bad that couldn't do the same with the aircraft.

1957-1960

I was stationed aboard the Mighty Midway from 1957-1960 and worked in the office of "G" Division. My off duty job consisted of being a Disc Jockey on station KMID from 2000-2200 every night at sea. My program was 'Eddies Tune Shop'.Still in contact with about 50 shipmates and have had 4-reuinions since the Midway became a museum in San Diego. Two of the reunions were in San Diego and we were able to go aboard each time.We couldn't believe how small the hatches were and how steep the ladders…
