  • Thomas what you say is so true, our government will spend billions on foreign countries and on wars and will not try to help the people in this country. For all of the lives this country have sacrificed - did any of those countries repay us? The answer is no. We spend billions/trillions on other countries and very little on our own!

  • WARS FOR THE USA  TO GET INVOLVED IN ARE A "DODGING OF RESPONSIBILITY." WE HAVE 3 MILLION CHILDREN GOING TO BED HUNGRY EVERY NIGHT. WE HAVE 190,000. VETS ON THE STREETS THAT NEED HELP! 230,000. HOMELESS JUST IN LOS ANGLES AREA AND COUNTY

We as ministers hit the streets with hope in mind .and many times come home asking why in this wonderful country we fail. I too support the government Chief, but question where all the money could have gone.

  • I agree that since WWII this country has thrown lives away. We have gotten into "conflicts" that were none of our business, what interest did we have in Korea or Nam for that matter? Politicians send people like us into war to die and they sit on their butts and get rich. I think the draft needs to be brought back and the politicians kids could not be exempt, maybe some of those conflicts would not have happened.

Don't get me wrong I support the government - it is some in the government that I question - do they have our best interests at heart or our they just out to screw us!

  • My first assignment there I think I left some dirty underwear under some brush. LOL My second  time in I got smart and brought diapers. LOL  All kidding aside, I really did not get to excited about my friends pics. If I was to go back it would to bless those we left behind.

  • Ref VietNam...I served on the Mekong Delta and have never had any desire to return.

  • David, you forgot to add that DeGAUL told the world along with strong emphansis to Kennedy to "stay out of this forsaken county that has taken so many French lives." Of course we heeded that!!!! Just like we heeded Russia about Afghanistan.I guess we all want to go down as martyrs of course to do that we will access to all the necessary bodies to show the world how expendable we Americans are or how much the "big guys," think we are.

  • I think for most of us boot was our first step into adult hood. We were right out of high school, momma did our laundry and all of a sudden here we are with people yelling and screaming at us - telling us when to go to bed, when to get up, when to eat - if we got to eat! Basically I had in my mind I was going to San Diego for two months and I would come home. After the 2nd or 3rd day of boot the reality set in that I was in for the long haul. At that time I was only looking at 4 years, I actually did 20 - and not a single regret!

  • Visiting the old NTC is like my first time at Wrigley Field in Chicago. I sat on third base line for the game and looked around the field and audience and for a few brief moments I saw the 20's the 30's and 40's. At NTC I did not see the condo's or the business's, I saw a lot of young men forming companies of Men, who were willing to give it their all for their country.

  • If I still lived in SD I would go by there all the time, NTC was the beginning of my mature life. I went in there as a 18 year old and came out - came out pretty close to a man - there is always that growing thing!

  • I will admit that I spent the weekend with family and on a boat part of the time, but I took time to visit the NTC and thought of the many who went through it and prayed for those that never came home. I wondered also if those who did, gave thanks for the opportunity and the blessing to come back.
