  And, there's the rub! $26 per gallon to make? Especially when you are talking about 450,000 gallons of Wesson waste oil!!! As I said earlier, if some farmer can make bio-diesel for .50(cents) a gallon it makes you wonder where all the money is really going! The "Green" Companies are really green because they are stealing all our greenbacks!!

  The next thing you know China will develop a means to track ship movements by following the scent of "french fries"!!!

  Thanks Pat! Actually, I have been speaking with the owner of Seafarer! He has quite a bit of stock that includes some of the "old style" chambray shirts. We have been lucky to find a significant quantity of shirts at Defense Re-utilization. We are even going to outfit some of the other ships here in the NE. It is sad what the Navy did to Seafarer! What is even worse, the new uniforms are being made by the inmates at Federal prisons! Seafarer had to close 5 out of 6 plants and lay everyone off! The good news is he is planning on continuing to make the chambray shirts in the future for the retail market(minus the Navy tapes of course)

  As for the bio fuel thing, that can or worms is still developing! Turns out there is a whole lot of political crap connected to it! What else is new?

  Hey Jim,

     If you still need dungarees for your volunteers, Seafarer is selling off their remaining stock.

     Long sleeve dungaree shirts are $7.50 each brand new with the "U.S. Navy" tag removed. Short sleeves are $7 each

     Bell bottoms are $9.95 new old stock.

     These are 65/35 cotton/poly blend, not the soft 100 per cent cotton we remember so well.

     They ship from North Carolina, so mailing costs shouldn't be too bad for all you east coasters.

     Apparently dungarees were completely phased out last year. (2010)

  I was in SanDiego about five years ago,and I had trouble telling my wife about boot camp,as you no the fire school is on Camp Nimits,and a lot of offices where camp decater was,San Degio has change so much,I was there from sept. 62 to dec. 62,my boook is pack up but I remenber my CC was DCC Hines Then I was Station at North Island  IN VP-.50 Sea Planes

  OK,here is a question I know someone can answer! I have cleared the cob webs from the brain. But, still can not remember though I think I do!

  On the dress blue wool bell bottoms, they were laced up in the back so that you could expand the waist line about an inch, right?

  Attended "Boot Camp" in August of 1958  and became part of the Drum & Bugle Corp. Great times with the guys of the "Beat & Blow".
