  LEFT A JANUARY BLIZZARD IN MONTANA AND LANDED IN SUNNY SAN DIEGO. JANUARY TO APRIL 1974 COMPANY 039 COMPANY COMMANDER IC1 RICHMOND. I WAS OFFERED G.P.O. BUT TURNED IT DOWN, I WANTED TO STAY WITH MY COMPANY. I WAS MAIL P.O., LAUNDRY P.O., AND MORNING CLEAN UP CREW.........RECEIVED ORDERS TO MOLDER "A" SCHOOL, ASK CC WHAT A MOLDER DID, HE SAID HE DIDNT HAVE A CLUE........

  January 1973 Boot Camp Company 911 special Company 50 State Flag Team. Company Commander was MMC GORE. He was a very big inspiration in my career. Graduated as E-2 and headed off to ML-A School.

  I went through from Jan-March 1968 (072). I remember the pool training. Where you had to inflate your trousers to make a floatation device. Also the gas chamber where we had gas masks that were old with cracks and the tear gas got into your eyes anyway LOL! And the dreaded fire fighting school. That was scary. The A range where we fired M-1 rifles. Those weapons were heavy. Seems I remember that when loading your weapon, you pushed in the clip and got your thumb outta there in a hurry. And finally, I heard at that time, so many recruits were going through, that the new enlistees were waiting in surrounding motels waiting to start new companies. Those were some times to be sure.

  Pushed six conmpanies forom 1986 - 1989. Wasn';t a bad tour once I accepted the fact I was there even if I didn't want to go there.
  Made SCPO there and probably a factor in making MCPO later on.

  Company 184, 1973 here. End of June thru the end of August. I too was an RPO, Religious PO - not quite sure how I ended up with that!?!?
