I was one of the first PR "A" School instructors at NATTC Millington when the school moved from NATTC Lakehurst where I was one of the last instructors. I was there from Sept 1990-Oct 1992.
I was at NATTC Memphis from August 26, 1973 to November 3, 1973.
I attended P-School, and A-School for ADR (Aviation Machinist Mate Reciprocating).
My short time there I remember the "Roach Coach", beer machines in the barracks, pizza delivery to the barracks. Funny how all remember is eating and drinking. I also put in for "Operation Deep Freeze" in Antartica but was told they didn't need any ADR's.
When filling out my "Dream Sheet" at A-School, I put down Hawaii and my Instructors laughed say you'll get it because everyone there wants to leave Hawaii. I wasn't in Hawaii too long before I found out that was true and why. LOL
I was at NATTC Memphis from Apr/May 1970 until Aug 1971. Went to P-School, A-School (Aviation Fire Control Tech), and got half-way through AFTA before I had an accident that put me in the hospital for two months, Upon hospital discharge, was reassigned as a brigade yeoman for brigade maintenance until I was medically re-evaluated six months later at which time I received an honorable medical discharge. Anybody out there remember me?!
