  • i went to great lakes n.t.c in august 1964 and i was in company 444.i remember running every where andfor a time i worked in the dental clinic disposing the extracted teeth of the new recurits ,i graduated in november and went on to anacostia n.a.s in wash dc.after my year there i went on board the uss yorktown cvs 10 and we sailed in dec 65 fot vietnam and west pac.

  • Remember being in line for chow and freezing our butts off. I was sort of use to cold weather but the southern guys hated it
  • After boot camp company 253 iIn 1963 I went to engineman school
  • After completing boot camp in Great Lakes, I went to "MM" A school in Nov 1974

  • Went to Great Lakes Boot Camp in November 1969 it was 45 degrees below Zero. Company 668. Talk about tying your clothes to the line and get it stuck on the metal poles, It would rip right off when you pulled it. Man it was cold.

  • I went to MM "A" School Class 4423-B graduated March 1973.3439405854?profile=original
  • Gunners Mate "A" & "C" school. Aug 81- April 82.
  • Attended gunnery "A" school in the big green, glass box. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of my class photo? (1980)
  • This was my first military encounter (1984) and my last (2005). Was stationed here for general duty, did 2 years in the RTC Galleys as MAA and 2 years with First Lieutenant Division. 2001-2005
  • Oct.1970 - Feb.1971 for B.P.&E. and MMA school.

FEB 1966 COMPANY 114 CO. Commander R.L. Peoples

Looking for anyone who was in this Company.On the day of scheduled departure R.L. Company 444 Sept 1963

How could I forget, Boot camp started Sept 12 1963  COMPANY 444  our graduation day was Nov 22 1963, we all know that terrible day, needless to say our festivities, pass in review and the rest were cancelled no Ceremony at all. Sad day for all. Lots of parents families and friends came for nothing.

IC-A School

I attended BE&E School, and IC-A School in 1969.  Lived in Snipes Castle, stood tornado watches, and I remember when they first let us keep civvies in our lockers on base.  I went to Nuke School in Mare Island (Vallejo, CA) in Jan. 1969, then S1W Prototype in Idaho in July.  Then the USS Enterprise for an all-expenses-paid trip to Vietnam.  I ended my six-year with a couple of years of new construction in Virginia (USS South Carolina, DLGN-37).  The South Carolina has already been…
