FEB 1966 COMPANY 114 CO. Commander R.L. Peoples

Looking for anyone who was in this Company.

On the day of scheduled departure R.L. Peoples said

"I've got some good news and some bad news"

The bad news is you are all so screwed up you get to stay and march more.

The good news is you get to spend some more time with me.

He was a sadistic Company Commander.

I remember "were gonna have some smoking choking and cokeing.

On the coke and cigarette break he would stick his thumb in some young recruits

adams apple. He never did it to someone his own size.

]The real reason we got held over is there were so many of us that had been promised a school after boot camp and they were all full (Viet Nam time period).

So we marched and did pushups and puked over the grease traps outside the galley.

Lots of bad memories but I learned a lot.

Went to Aircraft Hydraulics school at Memphis, then NAF El Centro Calif ships company Operations.

Met the Blue Angels, Volunteered and got a transfer to the Team. Flew the back seat of F4 #3 as a Crew Chief. Early out at 3.5 years to go back to school. Learned to fly and flew Learjets for 8 years and then 20 yrs as a Capt. at UAL. and then 7 years flying Citation Jet Charter. Now a Flight Instructor in Lebanon NH.

Pretty sure R.L. Peoples is gone but wish he was here so I could have a little talk with him.
