Great to hear from someone back in the day. That was a great camping trip wasn't it? Believe it or not, I still have that truck and I've built it into quite a machine. Your the second battalion member I've had contact with. The other was Bruce Parker from Alpha company, he was an EO. Had contact with him through VETFRIENDS. Hard to believe its been over thirty years. Made my home back in my hometown of Berwick Maine after the military. I'll speak to you again, breaks over go to get back to work, later Mike
Hey Charlie! We had to have run into each other! I was 106. After a lot of digging, I was able to find my copy of the Rudder. Our two company commanders were BM1 Graham and TM1 Staples. Graham was SEAL and I believe so was Staples. Both made Chief not to longer after. Lt R.D. Harshman (a fighter pilot) was the Battalion Commander. Our RCPO was Stan Whitfield. James Fernicola was the Yeoman. Daivd Lohman was MAA, Jerry Covington was EPO and Laymon Idol was the 1st Patoon Leader. Any of those names sound familiar? I signed up on several Navy sites, but haven't come across anyone. I think you're the first who was there at the same time.
Michael Dumont NMCB-74 -I just found the site and I think I was stationed with you in Rota Spain with NMCB-74. weren't you the guy that could shoot a mean game of pool?
