"I remember we used to put about 6 guys in a car and drive to Petrolia for a dance on Sat. nights. Too much beer, of course. The scary part was waking up in the early AM and seeing where we had tried to pull off the road to sleep. Remember those…"
"Hello to all out there that were at Centerville Beach. I was there from December, 1960 until January, 1964. I was an SOO 3rd class Petty Officer, schooled in Keywest, Fl. I think there were approximately 80 men (no women at that point) during my…"
Hi Terry, John Cooper here, I was a radioman 2nd class, we lived near you in naval housing, I believe your wifes name is, or was, Karen. I was married to a blonde named Sharon. I remember dick seaward, Chiefs sizemore and chruchill. I'm new here, my email address is jecooper1941@att.net, would like to hear from you.
It looks like we were at Centerville Beach for a while at the same time. I went there right out of Boot Camp. Ended up working in the mess hall for several months while waiting for my security clearance before going to work as an ETN striker at the T-Building. From there I was transferred to the Philip DD 498 based out of Pearl Harbor. Made three Westpac cruises before getting out in Jan. 1967.
Your name is vaguely familiar to me, but I can't quite place you.
After getting out, I completed 64 years of living in Alaska; then moved to Arizona four years ago.
