James, We went through Boot Camp at the same time, as I mentioned above. I joined the Navy because my girlfriend's uncle and father were Navy and talked about how great it was. Her uncle was the Commanding Officer of USS Bolster (ARS 38) and said that I could probably get stationed aboard his ship. His name was LCDR John Siemer. That was my destination, but I ended up getting orders to USS Mars (AFS 1) in Oakland. I see that you were aboard Bolster. Was that right after Boot Camp? Was LCDR Siemer your CO? -Bill
