  • Don,

Looks like we were both at RTC the same time. I arrived there on the evening of 23 APR 1980 and left two months later around the 20th of June. I was in CO 919. Do you remember when you arrived they passed around question-airs to everyone asking if they had any musical ability or had ever been in a marching band ? I was in the band and orchestra all during middle school and HS which was how I ended up in a drill company. I really had a lot of fun with it and it also got us out of doing "service week" at the chow hall. Since you were there in the end of May, I'm sure you can remember the 6.8 earthquake we had on Memorial Day. It's scared the crap out of this Midwestern boy at the time.
I noticed a few copies of "The Anchor" from 1980 listed on Ebay and Amazon. One was from CO 089, CO 901 & CO 933. Didn't see any from my company. I'm retired now, live in South Florida and work for the USPS (I was a Postal Clerk in Navy life)
