  • Hi everyone, TR was my last command. I was a reservist after doing a Regnav hitch and was part of the TR attachment from NAS Willow Grove. . I admired the crew who did the long cruise of Operation Desert Storm and were there so long before the trip home in July of 93. I remember the cheer that went up when it was announced that the TR was docked. They were a great group of people. Even the Officers were a great group of people.  The XO was so damned tall we all had a good laugh watching him go through a knee knocker. I hope all hands are doing well and prospering after giving so much.

  • Was my last command before retiring in August 2006. Made a deployment to the Med/Gulf in 2005-2006.
  • Hello ... I was on the TR from Sep 1984 through Jun 1986 and served as the first Main Propulsion Technical Assistant, my first assignment after being commissioned as a LDO.  Having served in submarines earlier in my Navy career, I was amazed by the sheer amount of space for the TR.

  • I was on TR from August 1997 to June 1999. I was in AIMD as AMO and MMCO. TR was a great ship during that time, and my first CO, CAPT Architzel, is still on active duty as VADM Architzel, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command. That was a great tour, and I transferred just after we finished combat operations off the coast of Kosovo, and before the ship transited the Suez Canal for the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.
  • I was on the Roosevelt from Nov 92 to Nov94
  • I was stationed on the "Big Stick" from 1997-2000 and was the Equal Opportunity Advisor on board.
  • I Was in VS24 on this ship I was on her maiden cruise as well as all the other mini cruises like the 3 month north atlantic.
  • I am a Plankowner of TR...came onboard in April, 1985 in Newport News and after working at the yard for awhile went up to Cheatham Annex to help receive initial outfitting supplies with AKCS Tessier.....what fun!
