Was assigned to Submarine Fire Fighting school when it first open, The group of sailors we had (SS & SW) were pretty tight. Had a great time at the trainer
Instructor 1985-1989
Attended sub school from Jan 1976 until Mar 1976 with some of my buddies from boot camp and RM "A" school. Also did Submarine Communications Pipeline there from Oct 1983 until Oct 1984. Had a great time there.
Attended submarine school August - September 1980. Still my favorite base of all time. Oh the days of swimming at the pond and going to the base theater.
I was stationed at sub school from 1986 to 1989. I was an instructor at the fire fighting school.
I went to Sub School in 1979; and then was assigned to the USS Spadefish (SSN-668) out of Norfolk, Va.
Well, I was a little before you guys. Graduated sub school 1961.
Time does fly!
I had better make a quick correction. [Then] Senior Chief "Red" Padgett's title should have been TMCS (SS). My apologies to that fine warrior and inspiration in my life. I would have corrected the original text, but I could not find an "edit" feature.
Also, I was previously at RTC-Orlando, not NTC. Again, sorry for the confusion.
