  • I worked in the receiver site and transmitter site at Roosevelt Roads during 1962-1964. I also maintained the TACAN site which was at that time on an eastern point of the base. It was in the planning phase to move it to the airfield. Did they ever move it ?

Wanted to go back in later years but unfortunately never got to do that.

  • We may have crossed paths. I played 2nd base on the team...and flag football as well.
  • Hi James,

After completing Radioman "A" School in Bainbridge, MD, I arrived at Roosey Roads in April '70 and was assigned to the Communications Dept.  Worked as base messenger for a while, then had assignments at both the Receiver and Transmitter sites in '71 and '72.  Not sure if our paths crossed or not.  Played 3rd base on the dept softball team.

    Regards,
