IS ANYONE AROUND FROM COMPANY 142 OF 1950 CHIEF A.E. CAMPBELL? I UNDERSTAND THE NTC WAS RUNNING AT FULL CAPACITY OF 50,000 BOOTS.WITH OUTBREAK OF THE KOREAN WAR OUR TRAINING WAS CUT SHORT AND BOOT LEAVE WAS CANCELLED.
Broadway started in the 70's from a sailor trap to a tourist trap. Chula Vista even began getting rid of the sailor traps. I left there in 10/88 - it so totally different from 72! Change has to come. I live in southern Nevada and I can point out the changes that have happened from late 96 to today.
On my way there Friday for the weekend. Will do a little tour of what remains of NTC and then fishing with my daughters boyfriend on their boat. Was hoping to take in a game but the team is out of town. Last time I was there was 2 years ago.
Wife and I used to go there every year but age is a creeping.
Jan 69 boot co 081 (CC was BM1 Pospisil) then to RM A school. Returned in 1971 to Coronado for SERE school etc. Lots of great memories of the area and beaches. Never been back but understand the downtown has changed considerably...cleaned up.
