  • I was a AQ -Shop Thunderbolt from Jan 1971 thru ~June 1974. We maintained the A-6A, A6-C TRIM, and A6-D aircraft. We had some crazy crossings getting to and from the MED.
  • Va-176 Thunderbolt reunion scheduled for September 15th to September 18th. Holiday Inn North Beach, Virginia Beach. More info to be posted on the web site. 

  • Hi there,  long time ago the squadron was my first duty station.  I was an AQ3 assigned to AIMD.

  • Served with the squadron 1978 to 1981. Flight Deck AE Troubleshooter. Best of times. I run the Thunderbolt reunions. Just had our 5th in September. Planning another along with VA-85 and Forrestal Association to co-incide with the Air Show in September 2014.

  • I served with VA-176 in the Ordy shop from 1979 until our return from the IO/Med cruise in June of 1981

  • Hey Tbolts.  I was there from July 82 till Dec 86.  I was the night check PP sup and then Line PO and then QAR then went back to PP as sup.
  • I haven't talked to anyone else from 176.
  • I am now outside of Decatur, Illinois.  I came up here after Hurricane Katrina wiped me out.  Retired now and doing not much of anything except riding my horses and loafing. lol
  • Larry where are u at now? I talked to ron thorne the other day, he is only person that i have been in contact with from 176

World Famous Thunderbolts

Retired as the MMCPO of the T-BOLTS in May 1992. Moved to OHIO an still living there. I still believe no other Squadron can lay claim to the HAT TRICK-3 BATTLE "E's" in a row!!! Greatest bunch of wrench turners, I ever had to pleasure to work with in 28 years. Great CO's and Officers!!!Dick Brooks AFCM (AW) Retired
