World Famous Thunderbolts

Retired as the MMCPO of the T-BOLTS in May 1992. Moved to OHIO an still living there. I still believe no other Squadron can lay claim to the HAT TRICK-3 BATTLE "E's" in a row!!! Greatest bunch of wrench turners, I ever had to pleasure to work with in 28 years. Great CO's and Officers!!!Dick Brooks AFCM (AW) Retired

  • THUNDERBOLTS FOREVER!!!!! AS2 Gary Hood. I was a T-BOLT from1987-1991. Made a couple cruises, 1-med. and the long stretch (108 days) in the Indian Ocean. Was a line rat for most my time but filled in for corr. insp. and the like. I was the official GSE guy too. I got to 176 when AFC Mark White was the line LPO. Hard to remember alot of the names. I cant remember who was the CO when I got there but I think it was CDR. Ballard then CDR Hawks but hell I could be way off. there was an AMEC Clemens (strange but good guy). Senior Chief Weeks? or a s/c whetsel or something like that? anywho..I loved the crew, the A-6,the co/xo's and the officers. Igot my 3-E's and MUC, and NEM. If you can think of some names I may have forgot, let me know. hell might even jog some thin' loose. Thanks!!
    • HI Gary, I don't remember you, being you were the GSE guy and was assigned outside the squadron, but SC Bobby Weeks worked with me in Maint Control, I took over for Gary Whetzel in the Maint Dept. in 1989. Was in the squadron 89-92 when I retired. AMSC Moe Ferland was in Maint with me also. You should know TK Kennon???? Where you at now???? Dave Farrugia was the CMC.. Have lost contact with all the OLD T-BOLTS , would like to hear from any of them!! Dick Brooks AFCM RETIRED
