  • I was a reservist there in the mid to late 80s as an Intel Specialist. Assigned to a couple of FIRST units (1472 & 1572 if I remember correctly). I also drilled there as as TD (defunct rate of TraDevman - rate mainly worked on simulators) while attending Michigan State and used to get picked up in Lansing MI by a eight seater prop plane based there for my drill weekends.Still live in the area and do drive around there occasionally. It is now condos and a shopping center....but they did keep the control tower and built around it which is kinda cool.

  • I was stationed at NAS Glenview from 1964 ton1966, worked in Hydraulics and lived at Anchorage CT.
  • I was stationed there from 92-94 in the crypto vault. By the time I got out there were no aircraft left, not much for me to do except for the BS 'busy-work' that the division officer kept inventing. I took a couple of bricks from the BEQ before the bulldozers came.
  • I lived in Glenview, Il 1962-1964. I was a dependent. Our home was near the runway. I enjoyed watching the F-4's as a 12 year old. I went back a couple of years back and my neighborhood was little changed; however, the base was obliterated. Sad.
  • I was a "Doc" at the Branch Clinic, 1980 to 1982. I see by the Hangar One website that the base is now commercial. Pity. Lot of people lived a lot of life there.
