Assigned HU-1/HC-1 Feb65 to Nov67 - worked on the line and then in the AT shop - served on the USS Eldorado AGC-11 with Det-11, USS Reeves DLG-24 with first Det-17 and USS Worden, USS England & USS Fos (all DLG's) with the second Det-17
HU/HC-1 from May '63 to September '66. Spent most of my tour TAD to AMD Paraloft. Made a quick side trip to the base when I took my family with me on a business trip to San Diego in 1987 or '88. It hadn't changed much.. except no helicopters.

Spent 2 yrs with HC-1 Det3, 79-81, WestPac'd on the USS Coral Sea "Maru". PowerPlants with charlie naggle and other great guys.
