All of us who served in any branch of the military must surely think of the group of people whom we were once so close to. Moved to NJ upon discharge from the Navy in 1982. Live in Tinton Falls and am a member and past commander of Post 346 American Legion Department of New Jersey. Spent two years at the Submarine Repair Facility in New London and three years aboard the USS Cushing DD985.
Born in Jersey City and moved to South Plainfield, N.J. at age 6. Enlisted in the Navy in June of '67. Served on board USS Northampton CC-1 from Sept.'67 until Feb.'69. NAS GTMO from Feb'69 until Feb '70, USS Mississinewa AO-144 Feb '70 until Apr. '71. Returned to South Plainfield, married and raised my family here. Now retired and split my time between So. Plfd. and Myrtle Beach S.C.
Was stationed on USS Norris DD-859 from June 66 till April 68,Round the World cruise with tour in Viet Nam ,,,,,USS Joseph K Taussig DD-1030 Nov.68 till Dec. 69 discharge, Unitus X cruise.
